Appalchian's Residential Network provides network connections to students living on campus. All network connections in the residence halls are Ethernet except Justice and Winkler Hall. Both of these halls have DSL. This service allows residents to connect to the campus network or Internet via the Appalachian Network. ResNet works closely with Academic Computing Services, Network Support Services, Housing and Residence Life, and Physical Plant Telecommunications to support students living in the residence halls.

Computer Network Registration

All devices (computers, PDAs, etc.) that require access to the ASU Data Network and or Internet via the Appalachian Network must be registered by the reponsible party. Once the device is connected to the network, you will need to open a web browser. You will automatically be redirected to the Appalachian State University Network Registration System. If you are not automaically redirected, the Registration System is at http://netreg.appstate.edu. Log in with your AppalNET account to register your device.
